The children have learned a lot about pet care and pet rescue during our first three meetings. We've had 2 very special guests visit us for our February and March meetings (for more information about the first meeting please see our previous post). In February, Rhonda Sykes from South Cobb High School talked with the children about proper treatment of pets (i.e. how to pet an animal). Rhonda started the first pet club in Cobb County Schools at South Cobb and is a volunteer with the homeless pets organization. She also brought Lexi along with her, so the children could meet our next sponsor pet. In March, veterinarian Dr. Toby Carmichael came in to discuss how to keep your pet healthy, including amounts to feed and proper toys for large vs. small breeds.
